"A QUICK HOP FROM YOUR BED ONTO THE PISTE"

4) Exercise & Alpine fitness

Do you want to experience fun exercise?
With us, you can "sport” and laugh yourself healthy.

This is also proven by the Austrian AMAS 2000 Study, “Austrian Moderate Altitude Study”, which states that holiday and exercise in the mountains have health effects. Exercise at high altitude is always high-altitude training, regardless of age, condition and fitness. From the AMAS Altitude Study, it emerges that locations such as Merano 2000 (1,600 above sea level) have a very positive climate. A stay in this high-altitude location offers complete uniqueness for the health prophylaxis. Regardless of whether it involves walking, hiking, jogging, cycling, Nordic Walking, carrying out sports at high altitude increases your wellbeing and brings the following positive effects with it:

  • Economising the cardiovascular system: the heart frequency and blood pressure declines
  • Decrease in elevated blood lipids (LDL with increase of HDL)
  • Weight reduction without an actual diet
  • Improvement of blood sugar metabolism
  • Rise in the blood-forming hormone, erythropoietin, as well as improved oxygen transfer to the tissue (“permitted doping”)
  • Decline in “oxidative stress”
  • Various neuropsychological improvements (among others, quality of sleep, attitude to life)

"Exercise has many faces
everyone finds his form,
after a while, mind and
soul also join in”

Indoor Sport:

The fitness room:

In the 70 m² fitness room, there is something for every athlete. It is equipped with high-quality cardio equipment, such as cross trainers (2), steps, treadmills (2), rowing machines (2), reclining bike, and upright seated bike. You can shape and strengthen your muscles using our modern weight set, our crunch trainer (for the abdominal muscles) and our multi-strength trainer. The fitness room also offers sufficient space for exercising on the floor mats provided. Did you become thirsty while training? Next door, you can quench your thirst at our excellent tea and water buffet with fresh fruit.

The 5 Tibetans:

Start the day full of energy and lust for life with the 5 Tibetans!
They represent a unique system for energy work. With these spiritual exercises, body, mind and soul are truly included. Their appearance of simplicity and their enormous development of energy make them an indispensable part of our energy work.
Measurements show that after practising the 5 Tibetans once, the Chakra activity rises to more than 20%, however usually to 30%. This elevation in the energy level usually lasts for several hours. That is why these spiritual exercises are terrific.
Within a short time, your entire meridian, Chakra and aura system is cleansed and energised, equilibrium, vitality and spiritual growth are generally already perceptible after the second/third exercise units. Subsequently, you can breathe in the fresh mountain air during rope walking and star breathing exercises.
Would you like to have a fit start to the day?
Nora will be happy to introduce you to this mental training.
The 5 Tibetans are suitable for everyone, no matter how old you feel. The only important thing is that they are practised correctly…

Outdoor Sport:

Nordic Walking – the gentlest form of whole-body training:

Experience the beauty of the untouched fauna and flora of Merano 2000 during the Nordic Walking courses (for beginners and advanced) and during the Nordic Walking Tour. Both of our qualified instructors, Leo and Diana look forward to introducing you to the 7 steps method and the ALFA technique 3 times a week.
History: Already in the 1930s, the cross-country skiers incorporated the so-called “ski walk” into their summer training. In spring 1997, supported by the technical development, Nordic Walking was introduced to the public as an independent fitness sport in Finland.
Health aspects: 85% of all body muscles are incorporated.

  • Nordic Walking is much more effective than walking without poles. It elevates the pulse to a level for optimum fat-burning (400 instead of 280 calories/hour during normal walking)
  • Nordic Walking firms the shoulder and chest muscles and strengthens the arms.
  • Nordic Walking improves aerobic fitness, even at a low speed.
  • Nordic Walking releases muscle tension in the neck and shoulder region.
  • Nordic Walking reduces stress on the knee joints and is therefore also particularly suitable for overweight people.
  • Nordic Walking economises the heart activity
  • Nordic Walking strengthens the immune system
  • Nordic Walking trains the coordination abilities
  • Ideal for: Overweight people, for rehabilitation of orthopaedic illnesses and cardio-vascular illnesses. Ideal for beginners, returners, young and old.

Hafling offers you a Nordic Walking Park with 7 routes at various levels of difficulty! Another Nature Fitness Park is available in the neighbouring municipality of Schenna!

Golf Club Lana: The 9-hole golf course in Lana is generally regarded as a pleasant course to play on, as there are no major elevation differences and it is therefore suitable for older players. Due to its length of 2,793 metres (PAR 35), this course is regarded as a relatively long course by South Tyrolean standards, which also requires length and precision in hitting, even for experienced players. In Golf Club Lana, the golf season lasts from the beginning of February until Christmas. The Par 70 course is pleasant to play on, the driver will find good use for all par 4 and par 5 holes.

Golf Club Passeier – Meran: The Golf Club Passeier-Meran, the new 18-hole course, is situated at 500 m above sea level and is only a 30-minute drive away from Hafling. The demands that the course places on the golfers are now already masterly. Cleverly devised par 3 and par 4 holes await you for nearly the whole year, due to the mild climate. Due to the hilly terrain, 25 golf carts are available, however the terraced fairways are all flat and integrated very attractively and spectacularly into the unique landscape.

  • 18-hole golf course Petersberg
  • 18-hole golf course Dolomiti

Its impressive charm, its unmistakable appearance, its versatility and its absolute reliability prove that it is a trusting recreational companion and an ideal family horse.
Secret tip for horse fans: from the beginning of June until the end of September, the traditional alpine meadow walk of the Haflinger herds takes place.
